As we welcome 2025 and kick off the pursuit of new goals, it’s worth taking a look back and recap what we achieved this last year. 2024 was challenging, but successful: it was the year when Agoric realized its long-term vision and set out to orchestrate the entire Web3 space. Along with our continued support of Agoric’s progress and stewardship of Inter Protocol, the DCF managed to hit several important milestones of our own. We helped bring Tribbles into the world, expanded our team, and established the DCF as a key voice in the realm of Web3 public goods.
Join us in summarizing the key highlights of 2024.
BLD Awareness & Capital Markets Presence
Building awareness around Agoric and its native BLD token is a core mission for the Decentralized Cooperation Foundation. We go about its execution through different channels:
- Entering and maintaining relationships with capital markets and market makers, facilitating exchange listings, and providing funds to liquidity pools. Throughout 2024 we helped get BLD listed on HTX, BitMart, and Coins.ph, and supercharged the BLD liquidity in Osmosis’ pool #1104. Also, we entered into 2025 equipped with a sophisticated capital markets strategy, so more operations of that kind are in the pipeline.
- Marketing activities including massive KOL engagements and AMAs, as well as content creation, both in-house and external, aimed at popularizing the essential role BLD plays in Agoric Orchestration.
- Educational initiatives like Learn & Earn campaigns, whose goal is to raise the public’s familiarity with Agoric Orchestration and the BLD token.
Grants Program Updates
Over 2024, the DCF distributed two rather critical grants. The first went to Range, the leading enterprise-grade modular security suite for blockchain, roll-ups, and bridges in the IBC ecosystem. The grant involved the development of security infrastructure and tools across monitoring, alerting, analytics, and forensics for the Agoric chain. They’re already available to the wide public and contribute to the healthy functioning of both Agoric and Inter Protocol. Find more details about the DCF grant to Range here.
The second DCF grant of the year was awarded to the builders of Tribbles, the first-ever intersubjective and multi-chain meme coin that’s about to launch on Agoric. The innovative nature of Tribbles is what makes it a next-generation meme coin and what ultimately motivated us at the DCF to fund its development. And while the project is not officially associated with Agoric, nor is it part of the IST ecosystem, we celebrate its potential to fuel Agoric’s rise, and why not Cosmos’ renaissance, too. Inter Protocol Stewardship
The DCF continues to act as the liaison between Inter Protocol and its Economic Committee, and coordinate with collateral asset partners, and the Agoric OpCo team. Additionally, we fund Inter Protocol’s oracle network and dedicate marketing resources to growing IST’s user base and community.
In 2024, the DCF once again aided the elections of Inter Protocol’s new Economic Committee roster. What’s more, as Inter Protocol’s Vaults turned one, a brand-new collateral type was voted in by the Agoric community. dATOM, Drop’s liquid staked version of ATOM, will be officially integrated very soon.
One of the most significant Inter Protocol upgrades to date took place in 2024 and concerned the reduction of the IST minting fees across all vault types to 0.01%. This effectively made the IST one of the least expensive stablecoins to borrow, and pushed Inter Protocol’s total value locked to a new all-time-high level.
Inter Protocol welcomes 2025 in a great shape with a bid to participate in Hydro’s pilot round 3. Stay tuned for more information soon!
A Key Opinion Leader in Web3 Public Goods
Propagating the spirit and utilization of decentralized ecosystems and accelerating the creation of resilient public goods are all part of the purpose and mission of DCF. We accomplish that through offering financial incentives, but also through advocacy, evangelism, and community support.
We believe that novel and sustainable mechanisms for funding public goods should be recognized and promoted. That’s why we initiated a blog post series dissecting what blockchain-enhanced public goods are, and what makes models like RetroPGF and Quadratic Funding revolutionary. We’ll keep exploring this topic over the coming months.
In December 2024, we also launched the Blockchain for Public Good Newsletter, a monthly publication, explicitly dedicated to the Web3 public goods field. Make sure to subscribe to follow the latest news around innovations in capital allocation and building for social impact.
DCF Around the World
Participating in IRL conferences is the best way to build relationships, meet community members, and strike partnerships, so we’re happy that we had the opportunity to join several crypto events over 2024.
Not only did the DCF take part in Consensus, Token2049, and Korea Blockchain Week, but we also supported a few gatherings financially. While at ETHDenver, we sponsored the Cosmos community event ATOMDenver, whereas at the Nebular Summit in Brussels we funded its community stage. Watch some of the fascinating talks we hosted here. Later on, at Cosmoverse, we shared a booth together with Agoric, and backed our friends OmniFlix’ FlixFest. The highlights of our Dubai experience are available here.
The DCF Book Club
There was one more initiative we undertook in 2024, and it was again aimed at educating and engaging with our community. The DCF Book Club was a summer social media campaign to motivate our followers to discover important titles examining the world of blockchains and decentralization. Yet, we enjoyed reading and discussing books with you so much, that we decided to keep the club going.
We read four fascinating books over the course of the year, whose topics spread across governance, capital allocation models, and blockchains’ unique ability to guarantee digital ownership. There are also plenty of titles we’re already eyeing up and looking forward to devouring in 2025, so you’d better hurry up and join us. Check out the book club’s summary here and let’s read together.
Looking forward to 2025
The past year has been a time of tireless work, experimentation, and many lessons learned, but also significant progress. The DCF grew its team, released a reskinned website, and went on to establish itself as a strategic partner in the realm of decentralized cooperation. As we embark on this 2025 journey, we confirm our commitment to leading a new generation of users into the bold Web3 future.
And don’t forget: 2024 was also the year when we started sending out a monthly newsletter, featuring all the latest news on Agoric, Inter Protocol, Cosmos and the wider decentralized ecosystem. Subscribing is the best way to keep up with all we do, so do it now.
We step into 2025 harboring great ambitions of fostering the expansion of Agoric’s ecosystem and accelerating Inter Protocol and Tribbles’ growth. Moreover, we possess the strategic know-how and tools to achieve it.
