Go-to-Market Strategy and Path Forward
Striving to introduce something new to the Agoric and broader Cosmos ecosystem, and potentially the entire crypto space, Tribbles has employed a sophisticated go-to-market strategy, consisting of several phases:
- NFT-Gated Discord Community: The first stage of the Tribbles community building efforts involved the sale of the Tribbles NFTs on OmniFlix. They served as the key unlocking the gate to the Tribbles community on the Agoric Discord. Now that the gate was removed, these NFT holders are considered the OG early adopters. There were three batches of NFTs, each with a minting price of 1 IST. The funds collected during that phase will be collected in the Tribbles treasury.
- Cross-Pollination of Other Communities: In an effort to use Tribbles as the catalyst for the Cosmos renaissance, Interchain stakers, liquidity providers, and traders have gradually been invited to embark on quests and thus qualify for the forthcoming Tribbles airdrop. Meme coin enthusiasts holding Celestine Sloths, Bad Kids, Mad Scientist, FlixFam Badges, or Spice are also eligible to grab a portion of the Tribbles coin. New pre-qualifiers are regularly being shared via the Tribbles channel on the Agoric Discord, as the final list of criteria will be announced right before the Tribbles launch. The more pre-qualifiers you’ve satisfied, the more Tribbles coins you’ll get.
- Fungible Token Launch & Airdrop: Tribbles will be a meme coin with a fixed supply, determined entirely by the community participation in the minting process. It will be distributed in a gamified airdrop as per the merits of each community member. The claiming process will require a small IST deposit, which again will go to the Tribbles treasury.
- Derivative Nature & Community Governance: The Tribbles token will evolve over time, inspired by innovative mechanisms like token forking. The project aims to be intersubjective—its value and utility will change according to community preferences, with different versions of the token potentially created over time.

Imminent Spawn and Tokenomics
The launch of the Tribbles minting on Agoric will represent its first official “spawn”, whose max supply will be determined solely by the community participation. What that means is that the total number of Tribbles in existence will depend only on how active users are.
With the aim of rewarding early adopters and remunerating constructive engagement, the Tribbles minting process is designed in tiers and epochs. By participating in various qualifying activities, including staking, providing liquidity, and interacting with the Tribbles ecosystem, users will earn the right to claim the meme coin. The more active and quick users are, the more Tribbles they can mint. Accordingly, the max amount a single user can be airdropped is 9000 Tribbles, and it will be available during the first epoch only. DCF’s Latest Grantee: The Future of Cross-Chain Expansion
Tribbles is a meme coin unlike any other in the space, and that’s what motivated us at DCF to fund its development. We recognize its potential to act as the engine behind the rise of Agoric, and why not the rebirth of Cosmos. And while the project is not officially associated with Agoric, nor is it part of the IST ecosystem, it’s still closely integrated with them.
The grant DCF has provided covers the development and delivery of the Tribbles airdrop smart contract, whose code will be publicly available and governed under the Apache Open Source License. Moreover, the smart contract will be released alongside a user interface, allowing users to connect their wallets to the web application and submit the information required to successfully complete the claiming process. The Airdrop contract will be assigned an official start time, marking the beginning of the claiming period.
At the time of writing, the smart contract code is being reviewed by the Agoric team, and the necessary preparations for deployment are underway.
